Why So Many New Year Resolutions Fail

It's February, and by now over 80% of people have ditched their weight loss resolutions. I believe a big part of that is because people set unrealistic expectations.

If you've developed a lot of bad eating habits, it's hard to just stop them all at once.

So instead of starting the year making goals that are hard to reach, start off slow. If you normally eat a lot of sugar, don't expect yourself to quit all of a sudden.

Set small goals such as no sweets after 7pm, or cut your sugar intake by 50% for the first week or two. When you see yourself making progress you'll be motivated to do more.

Continue to make more obtainable goals, and as time goes on you'll find that you've developed a series of good habits. Pretty soon those pounds will begin shedding.

Don't be so hard on yourself. Set small, realistic goals and reward yourself for completing them.

This creates a feeling of accomplishment and motivation that will help you achieve the long-term results you seek.
