Low Fat Deceptions

Be careful with low fat food claims. A lot of it's hype and marketing. Even though they've lowered the fat content, many food manufacturers raise the sugar levels (or don't lower them.) And if sugar is not burned off, it can also turn into fat.

We are so conditioned to watch for fat and calories that we often ignore the sugar content. So before you deem a food as "healthier" just because it's lower in fat, be sure to check the sugar as well.

Here's a great article regarding this very issue.
